Message From Your Board

Chair Message

Thank You, Al-Anon Friends,

We will have two important issues to be voted on at the November 8th Intergroup Service Representative (ISR) meeting for the future of San Diego Al-Anon. The first item is to elect the 2026 Service Board, and the other is to approve our draft amended governing Bylaws. Groups, please send either your registered ISR or your registered Alternate ISR to vote on these items.

I am pleased to share that we have received nine nominations for six open board positions! The ballots for the nominations have been forwarded to the ISRs for a vote at the November meeting. Special thanks to all the nominees and to the members of the Bylaw Task Force.

One final note about our annual Non-Event Fundraiser – please see the Vice-Chair's message for details. Your donation matters!

Message From Your Board

NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2026 SAN DIEGO AL-ANON SERVICE BOARD DUE OCTOBER 3

Your service on the board will help to ensure information is always available for those who need the support of Al-Anon and Alateen in the San Diego area. If you have been in the Al-Anon program for at least two years and are not concurrently a member of AA, please consider serving on the board. Notice someone at your meeting that you think would be a great candidate? Encourage that person to apply and then offer your support. You can also nominate yourself.

https://www.alanonsandiego.org/san-diego-board-positions

Nomination Forms and Information can also be found in the back pages of this Intercom.

Please get in touch with Edna M., our Historian and Nominations Chair, at [email protected] with questions or nominations.

NON-EVENT FUNDRAISER

The Non-Event Fundraiser, the final fundraiser of 2025 supporting your Al-Anon Information Services (AIS) Board and Office, will be taking place between October 1st and November 30th.

The AIS Board is over halfway to meeting our fundraising goal for 2025 after the amazing turnout and generosity of our fellowship at both the Glee Anon performance and the Birthday Celebration. We, as board members, are deeply grateful for your contributions, which enable us to continue focusing on public outreach, supporting Alateen, revamping the San Diego Al-Anon website to make it more accessible to all, and pursuing numerous other initiatives.

More to come regarding this fundraiser as we approach Fall. Thank you for your continued support.
