Message From Your Board
Dear Al-Anon Friends,
This month, I have two important announcements:
First: Nominations for the 2026 San Diego Al-Anon Service Board are open. Your service on the board will help to ensure information is always available for those who need the support of Al-Anon and Alateen in the San Diego area. If you have been in the Al-Anon program for at least two years and are not concurrently a member of AA, please consider serving on the board. Notice someone at your meeting that you think would be a great candidate? Encourage that person to apply and then offer your support. You can also nominate yourself.
You can find position descriptions on the SD AIS website at:
https://www.alanonsandiego.org/san-diego-board-positions
Nomination Forms and Information can also be found in the back pages of this Intercom.
Please get in touch with Edna M., our Historian and Nominations Chair, at [email protected] with questions or nominations.
Second: The Service Board is seeking a part-time Office Manager. The job description is on the website:

Message From Your Board
Chair message
Dear Al-Anon Friends,
Service in Al-Anon allows us to stretch ourselves and to practice the Al-Anon principles while we connect with others with whom we can be ourselves. It is an opportunity to attempt something we can actually achieve and to gain self-esteem by doing something of value. - From How Al-Anon Works for Families and Friends of Alcoholics, p.103 (1995 Edition) or p.100 (2008 Edition)
Several AIS Office Board members will complete their two-year service terms in December 2025. If you have been in the Al-Anon program for at least two years and are not concurrently a member of AA, please consider standing for a board position. Consider nominating yourself, a Sponsor, Sponsee, or another Al-Anon member. You can find position descriptions on the SD AIS website at: https://www.alanonsandiego.org/san-diego-board-positions.
Please contact Edna M., our Historian and Nominations Chair, at [email protected] with questions or nominations.
Your service on the board will help to ensure information is always available for those who need the support of Al-Anon and Alateen in the San Diego area.
In service and with gratitude,
Sherry M.
Board Chair
